About Travel Club Lounge

The Travel Club Lounge launched in November 2015, offers a soothing, fresh, vibrant ambiance that has been created to give domestic passengers a world class experience. The design has been derived keeping the elements of the plush GVK Lounge by TFS and Performa at T2 in line with the international terminal ambience and its finer details.

Concept based on Tree of Life

Spread across 4500 square feet and with a capacity to accommodate 170 passengers, the new lounge has redefined the benchmark of comfort in air travel within the country. The Travel Club Lounge has been creatively conceptualised and designed by Aura Dezyne, and is based on the Tree Of Life concept. The Tree of Life concept is sacred to most cultures. Its significance transcends conscious reality, delving into its extraordinary role as the source of nourishment. The Tree of Life therefore denotes key elements of water, growth, and fruitfulness — so invaluable in life.

Interiors to rejuvenate passengers

White textured marble is used in various ways- as a screen at the entrance as well as the Tree of life on the wall. A 30ft long sculptural ceiling light designed by the award winning Indian artisans, created with different handmade paper from the green forest of India, which have been crushed artistically. These focal elements have been blended into the design to sooth passengers.

The lounge is split into various areas including the open library niche at the entrance showcasing an assortment of newspapers, magazines and the keen eye is sure to find some interesting cultural and heritage coffee table books on India. Passengers can liberally use the ample space housing the’ U ‘shaped island  bar, spa, quiet zones, workstations and buffet area with generous aisles for ease of movement of stroller bags.

Demarcation of quiet zones from the active zones have been done by the use of graceful wooden partitions – which also support the tree themed lamps. These semi open partitions give the illusion of space as the entire lounge can be seen at one time and yet giving the passengers privacy. There are large comfortable sofas, with side tables and charging points for phones/laptops. A fully equipped office centre is at one end of the quiet zone. This area has a sound absorbing fabric panelling on the wall, carrying our tree of life theme forward. The restrooms are designed with Charcoal grey Italian marble with sufficient stalls and mood lighting.
